What will you Learn?
Music Theory I (Beginners)
Beginner students will learn about music notation (pitch and rhythm), chords such as triad, and seventh chords, major and minor, scales, arpeggio and intervals.
Music Theory II (Early Intermediate)
Early intermediate students will learn the harmony of voice leading; four part-harmony, harmonic progression, Embellishing tones, and species counterpoint.
Music Theory III (Intermediate)
Intermediate students will learn all of the diatonic harmonic chords such as the I, ii, iii, IV, V, vi and the vii diminished chord in major scale and I, ii diminished, III, iv, V, VI, and VII chords in minor scale.
Music Theory IV (Early Advanced)
Early advanced students will be learning about chromatic harmonies; applied chords, modulation, modal mixture, bII6 the Neapolitan sixth chords, augmented Sixth chords, and sequences.
Music Theory V (Advanced)
Advanced students will be learning about Forms, Sentences, Period, Binary forms, and Sonata Form.
